- Information about Katy Leffert’s life outside of her time at the President’s House is currently unknown. Katy Lefferts worked for George Washington at the President’s House in Philadelphia. Her sister, Mira Lefferts, also worked in the household as a housemaid. Katy joined the staff as a kitchen maid, earning $5.00 a month. She only appears once in household records, earning wages in December 1790 and January 1791.1
