- James H. Moore was born around 1900 in Virginia. (1) Moore worked for the Post Office Department and in 1929, he was assigned to the White House Garage. There, he worked as a truck and wagon driver and garage man, which included both driving vehicles and cleaning/maintaining them. (2) He worked there at least through the start of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s presidency in 1933, but further information about his life and career is scarce. (3)
