In 1929, First Lady Lou Hoover listed an individual named C. G. Carter as a washer detailed to the White House Garage on her annual staff Christmas list. This position entailed washing the White House fleet of automobiles. Further information about this individual is not known at this time, and they do not appear on future employee lists. (1)
