- In 1929, a man named William Green was included on Lou Hoover’s annual staff Christmas list among horticulture employees supervised by Head Gardener Charles Henlock. (1) He may have worked on the White House Grounds or at the White House greenhouses near the Bureau of Engraving and Printing on the National Mall. Green worked for the Office of Public Buildings and Parks and may have been assigned to the White House prior to or following 1929, but documentation is limited. (2)
