- On First Lady Lou Hoover’s 1931 staff Christmas list, a woman named Gunda Morland is listed among the White House servants. A handwritten note next to her name appears to read “Mrs. H’s maid,” suggesting that she served Lou Hoover– but further information about her life is scarce and she does not appear on other Hoover-era staff lists.
