- Information about Mary Fessinger’s life outside of the President’s House is currently unknown. Mary Fessinger worked for George Washington at the President’s House in Philadelphia. Her role is unclear, but she appeared twice in household records and may have been a short-term hire. She first appeared in June 1793, earning $5.00 for a month of work.1 She appeared again the following month earning $7.50 for “her wages in full to this date.”2
