Biography
Information about Amy’s life outside of the President’s House, including her surname, remains unknown. Amy appears once in records related to George Washington’s presidential household in Philadelphia in April 1793. She briefly worked as a housemaid for four weeks, earning $4.75. She was likely a short term replacement for another housemaid. She does not appear in further records.1
