Biography
The 1944 White House staff roster listed Wilbert Eldred Durrance as a chauffeur in the White House garage. He drove for Captain Chester C. Wood, assistant naval aide to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. (1) Durrance was likely a member of the U.S. Armed Forces as most of his fellow garage staff were in this period, but further information about his life and career is limited.
