A man named Harold Orr was listed on the 1944 White House staff roster as an employee in the garage. (1) At this time, further details about his life are limited, but he may have been a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, as was common among White House garage staff at this time. An individual by this name does appear on the 1940 Census as a soldier stationed in D.C., but without further details it is difficult to determine if this was the same man who worked at the White House.
