- As early as 1943, George C. Reeves appeared on White House staff lists as an employee in the carpenter shop. (1) His duties included maintaining the rooms and architectural features of the White House, furniture repair, and various construction and installation projects. (2) In 1951, Reeves appeared on a list of staff submitted to receive a salary increase; he likely worked at the White House beyond that year, but further information about his life and career is limited at this time.
