Biography
Information about Katy Maloy’s life outside of the President’s House is currently unknown. Katy Maloy briefly worked for George Washington at the President’s House in Philadelphia. She appears in a single entry in household account records in 1793: “House expenses pd. Katy Maloy for working 6 days in June last.”1 It is possible Katy Maloy is the same person as Katy Bower, another employee in Washington’s household who left her job in April 1793. Bower may have gotten married and briefly returned to work for six days that June as Katy Maloy, though this cannot be verified.2
